Cliff Dwellers, in co-sponsorship with the Friends of Downtown and the Chicago Chapter of the AIA, are pleased to present another in a series of lectures at the Cliff Dwellers on Projects by Chicago Architects: Eric R Keune, On the occasion of SOM's 80th anniversary, will share some of the firm's recent work in the Chicago Metropolitan Area, Indianapolis, Indiana, along with several international projects which have been informed by work in the firm’s “hometown”.
Eric R. Keune, AIA is a Design Director with SOM where he has worked for the last 19 years in both the Chicago and San Francisco offices. Architect , Architectural Historian, and author - he is the author of a monograph on the work of onetime Chicagoan Paffard Keatinge-Clay entitled: Modern Architect(ure)/Modern Master(s). During his tenure with the SOM Eric has designed and built two projects for the State Department in Beijing and Guangzhou, as well as Kia Motors Headquarters and Automotive Design Center in Irvine, the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California and locally, an apartment for his family on Lake Shore Drive. He has not yet acquired the flat vowel sounds characteristic of the region.
